Had the chance to talk to the family caretaker of the resort. Lalo na sa nag-iisang anak nila.
She’s just 4 years old, and I was surprised with the way she talks with people. Usually, people coming from the indigenous groups feel inferior and avoid talking to the urban people. Primarily, it’s because of the attitude of people towards them that it becomes inevitable for them to feel “lower”.
I hope she continues to stay resilient.
A few questions still linger on my mind. When would it come that this kid would feel inferior because of the lifestyle of the visitors? When would people learn to treat them equally, and not specially?
I took this picture not as a tourist taking a picture with a figure (just like an Igorot in Baguio), but because of the amusement I met a kid as bibo as her.
